The Lewa Wildlife Conservancy in Kenya is not only home to endangered Grevy’s zebra, and black and white rhino but it is also a pristine World Heritage Site. All this natural beauty and abundance is matched at Sirikoi, an intimate camp that prides itself on attention to detail, superlative service and an astonishing array of activities, including flips over the Magado Salt Pans, Lake Turkana (known as the Jade Sea), Mount Nyiru and the Ewaso Nyiro River.
Sleeping only 16 guests in tented rooms, a 2-bedroom cottage and an exclusive-use private house, you will be spoilt for choice at Sirikoi. In addition to excellent game viewing – Lewa is home to 10 per cent of Kenya’s remaining black rhino population – you can enjoy hiking and quad biking in the Ngare Ndare Forest, which has waterfalls fed by Mount Kenya and a 400m-long walkway in the tree canopy. There are also interesting cultural excursions to Kargi and the Rift Valley, where you can meet the Pokot and Rendille people, respectively.
Back at camp, relax with in-room massages, horse riding, guided bush walks and tremendous meals carefully prepared with fresh organic produce from Sirikoi’s extensive kitchen garden. Before sundowners, enjoy a long soak in your Victorian ‘tub with a view’, with a chilled glass of Moet & Chandon to hand.

Facilities
Sirikoi has struck the right balance between modern conveniences and rustic bliss. There is complimentary Wi-Fi and good mobile phone coverage, as well as helicopter trips to remote destinations and nostalgic biplane rides in a Waco model reminiscent of the 1920s and 30s.
Guests can cool off in the 18-metre infinity swimming pool or browse the thoughtfully stocked safari shop, which is a treasure trove of African art, sculpture, antiques, jewellery and fashion.
Sirikoi has a complimentary laundry service.
Dining
Sirikoi has an extensive kitchen garden that provides the chefs with everything from organic lettuce and giant mushrooms to free-range eggs for fluffy omelettes cooked up in the bush after a morning game drive. Meals are very varied and feature dishes like chicken curry, tenderloin done to perfection and bone-in pork chops, not to mention vegetarian pizzas. The garden also supplies the camp with fresh flowers, an unusual touch on safari.
