Set in the vineyards of the Franschhoek Valley approximately 83km from Cape Town, the private wine and olive estate of Domaine des Anges provides the stunning backdrop for La Residence - an opulent guesthouse designed along the lines of a French country chateau. This fertile valley and the picturesque village of Franschhoek have become world-famous for fine wine, superb cuisine, and warm hospitality. There are many things to do in and around Franschhoek.
After a morning spent exploring this beautiful area, you can enjoy the luxury of relaxing on expansive patios where you can admire the view. Alternatively, you can unwind in the cloistered courtyard with its private pool. A separate home movie room and private library add to the secluded splendor of the villa.

Dining
The kitchen at La Residence uses only the freshest ingredients that are locally sourced where possible. The cuisine features a Mediterranean theme and is complemented by carefully selected wines from the Franschhoek Valley and surrounding wine farms. Breakfasts and brunches are generous and may include fresh seasonal fruits, farm honey, and yogurt, as well as a cooked English breakfast. Lunches are light - often salad-based - frequently featuring Franschhoek salmon trout: smoked, steamed, or seared. Dinners are usually 3- or 4-course affairs offering you a selection of South African food and wines. As La Residence was originally intended as a family home, the kitchen is very accessible and you can sip an early-morning cup of coffee at the kitchen table or enjoy a pre-dinner drink in the comfortable seating area by the hearth.
