It may be trite to say it but King's Pool Camp is genuinely worthy of royalty. This plush camp is located on the private Linyanti Game Reserve – one of the most pristine and least-visited areas in all of Botswana where you have exclusive access to three million hectares of untrammeled wilderness that includes the incredible Savute Channel. The unsurpassed accommodation overlooks King's Pool Lagoon and the Linyanti River where game thrives and predators such as lions, African wild dogs, and hyenas are spotted regularly. With two-thirds of the channel falling within the reserve and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip just across the river, this bountiful area offers discerning travelers a slice of Africa at its best./
In addition to dawn, dusk, and evening game drives in a roofless 4x4, guests at King's Pool Camp can enjoy river cruises on the Victorian-inspired barge and seclude themselves in two different hides – one sunk below ground next to a waterhole – to get the best possible encounters with game. To help preserve the environment, the entire camp runs off solar power only, and the walkways between the nine luxurious tents have been raised to allow smaller game complete access (the encampment is unfenced, allowing you to listen to hippo and warthog families roaming and rooting around at night). Twitchers will be thrilled that King's Pool Camp lies in an IBA – an important bird area – and yellow bee catchers will be among the first ticked off your list.
Even the tents are as impressive as the surroundings: each has its plunge pool overlooking the King's Pool Lagoon, double walk-in showers, and incredibly romantic 4-poster beds. Combined with discreet staff and excellent attention to detail, King's Pool Camp is a haven for safari-goers who a 5-star bush experience with all the extras.

The tents and communal areas of the camp are linked by raised wooden walkways allowing the animals to walk freely below.
The expansive wooden deck overlooking King's Pool Lagoon has two sunken seating areas from where you can watch hippos, crocodiles, and the prolific birdlife resident on this untouched reserve. Built into the enormous deck is also an infinity-edge plunge pool ideal for cooling off on sunny afternoons, and a more formal seating area also forms part of the front deck.
