Chisa Busanga Camp is in the heart of the Busanga Plains, in Zambia’s Kafue National Park – a true hidden gem. This camp has earned its unique status, with its accommodation being a series of ‘nests’ designed by an international architect. Each of the ‘nests’ has been built on stilts and mimics a weaver’s nest. It is guaranteed to make you feel completely immersed in these wild surroundings. The nests are eye-level with the trees, which means plenty of birdwatching.
The biggest innovation at Chisa Busanga Camp is the game viewing vehicles, which look like normal, open-air 4WDs but they are completely powered by solar electricity. These are the first electric game-drive vehicles on the Plains and they give you an almost ‘silent safari’ experience. They create minimal disturbance to the wildlife as they glide around.
This eco-friendly camp offers an array of activities led by local guides from bush walks and mountain biking to game drives across the endless expanse of wild terrain. Aquatic antelope such as lechwe roam the floodplains in their herds, while elephants lumber down to the patchwork of streams in the area. There’s always plenty of lion drama in this part of Kafue, and guides will use their local knowledge to track these phenomenal predators.

Facilities
Spend your days on thrilling game drives and when you are back at camp lounging at the plunge pool, soaking up the sun and sipping a cool drink. The remoteness of this camp makes it feel unique and otherworldly. The outdoor fire pit is surrounded by canvas camp champs and sits on the Liuwa Plains, promising stunning night skies to share stories of adventures of the day.
Dining
Your day starts with early morning tea, coffee, and biscuits before your morning drive, after which you return for a hearty brunch. There is plenty of time for afternoon tea before your second game drive, which usually ends with cold drinks and snacks at a sunset spot. You then return to camp for a 3-course supper served by candlelight. You can also opt to eat dinner in the privacy of your suite or out on the Liuwa Plains.
