Honeymoon Tent
Ideal for a couple or two people sharing, the Honeymoon suite is arguably one of the most romantic getaways one can experience. A dedicated plunge pool provides the perfect opportunity to soak with your loved one while sipping on sundowners and watching the hippos frolic in the river.
Set further away from the main camp, the secluded Honeymoon suite provides total privacy, allowing you to bask in the elegant and serene atmosphere crafted by the colonial-style setting. Whether it be immersing yourself in a bubble bath accompanied by a spectacular view of the Mara plains, indulging in an intimate lantern-lit dinner in the exterior dining area, or simply spoiling yourself with an in-tent couple’s massage, the Honeymoon suite sits you in the lap of luxury without ever having to leave your room.
Deluxe Tent
Taking inspiration from the elegant style of a traditional Edwardian hunting safari tent, the rooms at Olare Mara Kempinski are raised on wooden decks to optimize the surrounding view. Each tent is named after the unique view it provides – the Olmakau (Hippopotamus) room overlooks the hippo pools of the Ntiakitiak River and the Nayokutuk (Vervet Monkey) room delivers Vervet monkey sightings all day.
Echoing design elements of a bygone era, each tent features a private wrap-around verandah, offering panoramic views of the wilderness and providing the opportunity to see the animals (such as giraffe, hippos, hyenas, elephants, and more) up close as they graze and play near the camp – keep an ear out for the monkey chattering, whooping of the hyenas and lions coughing that can be heard clearly from inside your tent.
Olare Mara Kempinski’s top priority is to provide an authentic safari experience in which modern comforts are effortlessly blended with the rudiments of the past. Soft, inviting King-sized beds, Nespresso coffee machines, and a bath with a dramatic view of the savannah are housed in tents that provide the feel of an under-canvas safari experience. Leaving no need to compromise comfort for authenticity – be at one with nature without sacrificing your screen time.
Each room boasts elements reminiscent of the original safari tents, giving you the sense of the early days of African exploration.
Facilities
Enjoy two game drives a day at Olare Mara Kempinski. The custom-built safari vehicles hold up to six people and offer unrestricted views, expert safari guides, and on-board refreshments. Experience the unique ecosystem in comfort while looking out for lion cubs playing in the grass and leopards lounging lazily in trees. End your busy days off with a dip in the shaded pool or an in-tent massage to help you unwind and relax.
Dining
Olare Mara Kempinski continues the classic safari experience at the onsite restaurant that features a design fusion of khaki canvas, mellow timber, and Masai-inspired décor. The dining room changes ever so slightly to set the mood for each meal – bright panoramic views of the surrounding savannah accompany breakfast and lunch, while a log fire and romantic candle-lit atmosphere ushers in dinner. Daily set menus provide hearty meals that are sure to tantalize the taste buds.
After having a bite to eat, a timbered deck leads the way to a forest clearing that plays host to the safari bar – perfect for a little nightcap alongside the nightly campfire.
And if you are adventurous at heart, satiate your appetite and wild side by dining on the plains. Enjoy breakfast near the hippo pools or a picnic lunch in the wilderness, ensuring that you do not miss any of the magic while out on a game drive. Or if you are feeling a bit extravagant, treat yourself to an exclusive savannah breakfast in a carefully selected shaded glade, where a Masai-inspired decorated table awaits your seating and a private team of chefs is on standby to cook a full English breakfast of your choice.
