Set in a semi-arid desert in the western section of the Samburu National Reserve, Samburu Intrepids offers a green oasis on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River - the lifeline of this beautiful park. Ideal for families, this luxury tented camp offers comfortable, relaxed accommodation and many educational and fun bush activities for the children. Enjoy twice-daily game drives, in either the Samburu or Buffalo Springs reserves, in open-sided vehicles, and be on the lookout for the rarer species of wildlife such as the reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and long-necked gerenuk antelope as they roam these lands.
The children can join the Adventurers' Club which combines a fascinating bush school with practical and fun conservation activities as well as cultural and sporting exchanges with the local Samburu communities. Parents and children alike can enjoy walking safaris and bird walks led by experienced ornithologists while romantic sundowners in the bush end the day off perfectly. Overnight fly-camping excursions are available on request and offer a fun, adventurous break from civilization.
