Explore the untamed wilderness of Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park from Puku Ridge Camp. Traditional structures finished with elegant design elements combine thatch, canvas, and wood to create luxury African canvas-chic accommodation.
Constructed on elevated wooden decks, the camp has uninterrupted views of the seemingly endless savannah. Giraffes, hyenas, elephants, leopards, lions, and buffalos roam the plains of South Luangwa, many of which you’ll be lucky enough to see without leaving camp. Photography enthusiasts in particular will love the hide with its unique views of the private watering hole that attracts predators and prey alike.
Zambia is famed for its night drives and, using the award-winning red light protocol, Puku Ridge guests can watch elusive nocturnal wildlife hunt and forage with no inkling that they’re being observed. Daytime walking safaris get you up close to the flora and fauna, allowing for an opportunity to slow down and take in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Luxury Room
Puku Ridge boasts eight luxury rooms designed in a style that can only be described as African canvas-chic. A blend of canvas, thatch, and decking come together to create an opulent tent overlooking the Puku Ridge floodplain and hordes of wildlife roaming near the camp.
Soak in a freestanding bath with a view of the sprawling South Luangwa savannah. Or wash the day’s activities off under the soft glow of the night sky in the outdoor shower. Cool off in the private plunge pool, sipping on a sundowner as you watch games go about their day. Then end your day off in the private star bed tower – a bewitching experience ideal for a romantic night under the stars.
Facilities
Renovated and refurbished in 2019, Puku Ridge offers modern comforts while providing an authentic safari experience. The architecture has been designed to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, incorporating elements from traditional village life.
Puku Ridge’s communal lounge and dining section comprises a bar, restaurant, open-air deck, and campfire area overlooking the wildlife-frequented watering hole. A chilled drink and a warm fire on the deck pair well with an uninterrupted view of the South Luangwa plains. And, if you’re inclined to get closer, the hide situated below the deck allows you to watch as the elephants and zebras congregate at the water.
Dining
The chefs at Puku Ridge ensure that each dish is a colorful, fresh explosion of flavor and delectability. Heart and soul are poured into every meal served: vegetables are hand-picked from local markets outside the park, and herbs and spices are sourced from secret locations. All to take guests on a truly unique culinary journey.
Guests can choose to dine either in- or outdoors on the raised wooden dining deck. After which, you can let the dancing flames of the campfire lull you into a blissful state as you watch a family of elephants drink from the watering hole below.
